The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (VAW) is marked annually on 25 November, and ushers in the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence through to 10 December on Human Rights Day.  The Commonwealth Secretariat's webinar on 25 November from 11:30am - 13:00 (UK time) will offer an opportunity for Commonwealth member countries and the Commonwealth Secretariat to highlight their work to address sexual harassment and violence in the workplace.

This webinar aims to enhance commitments to eliminating violence against women and girls, and increase awareness of workplace harassment and violence, and the International Labour Organisation Convention 190 - Eliminating Violence and Harassment in the World of Work (C190) by:

  • Enabling Commonwealth member countries and partner organisations to share their experiences of addressing workplace harassment and violence;
  • Reflect on how the Commonwealth can collectively promote measures to counter workplace harassment and violence including through ratification of (C190) and working with key development partners; and
  • Commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women by raising awareness of C190.
