Mobilizing African Business for Impact.
With 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of three and a half trillion dollars, Africa is the world’s biggest growth market. It is youthful, geographically vast, culturally diverse, and resource rich. Now more than ever, African businesses are primed to play a pivotal role in the corporate sustainability movement. Together, we can realize our collective aspirations for a prosperous, thriving, sustainable and resilient Africa. In order to do this, however, African businesses have a crucial role to play. They must step up and become strong pillars of sustainability and responsible business practices.
Uniting Business Africa is a one-day forum that will bring together African and global leaders from business, civil society, Government, Global Compact Local Networks and the United Nations. The event will inform, inspire and catalyse individual and collaborative action by all stakeholders, to strengthen responsible businesses practices, build societal resilience and contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The event will also introduce the UN Global Compact’s Africa Strategy for 2021-2023, which has been developed to drive increased impact on the continent over the next three years, with an emphasis on Africa’s priorities and peoples. This strategy is a call to action for Africa’s businesses. We invite the private sector, as well other Stakeholders across the continent, to join us as we accelerate progress on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063, the Africa We Want,.
Africa’s future is well worth the investment.
