This presentation will help you understand more about stroke---risk factors, prevention, treatment, and recovery.
When someone suffers a stroke, the minutes count---as do the seconds. And the life you save may be your own.
Being aware of stroke symptoms and acting in rapid response can mean all the difference in helping a stroke survivor maintain independence, life quality and precious memories.
On Friday, October 29, 2021, Institute on Aging welcomes you to a 90-minute training, in honor of World Stroke Day, 2021, a worldwide campaign of awareness and action.
In this presentation, we will identify stroke symptoms and the importance of acting quickly when stroke occurs. We will also review stroke risk factors, treatment, and post-stroke recovery.
Registration Ends on October 29th, at 9:30 a.m.
By the end of this event participants will be able to:
- Identify at least three major risk factors of stroke
- Plan at least two prevention measures to avoid a stroke
- Describe at least five signs and symptoms of stroke
- Practice both how and when to take immediate medical action at the first sign of stroke
