Gender Equity Launch - Equal Workplaces. Equal Laws

We all share a responsibility to drive forward Gender Equality and reduce sexual, domestic and family violence and harassment in Australia.

That is why on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Unions NSW is launching an Australian-first workplace, industrial and social plan to deliver on this commitment to gender equality. This will include:

• developing workplace gender equity clauses and standards for contracts and agreements that cover millions of workers;
• training thousands of union staff, union members and employers in best-practice primary prevention of violence and trauma responsive support;
• engaging in workplace campaigns to achieve gender equality, and to reduce sexual, domestic and family violence and harassment;
• campaigning for government policy reform, including a NSW Gender Equity Agency mandated to review all new bills and regulations and report to Parliament on any gendered impacts.
