#Youth-led Solutions for Food Security Indigikitchen Supported by: Food and Agriculture Organization, World Food Programme
  • Indigikitchen, a portmanteau of Indigenous, digital, and kitchen, is an online cooking show dedicated to re-indigenizing our diets using digital media. Using foods native to their Americas, Indigikitchen gives viewers the important tools they need to find and prepare food in their own communities. Beyond that, it strengthens the ties to our cultures and reminds us of the inherent worth of our identities while fueling our physical bodies. Indigenous food systems support healthier ecosystems, bodies, and families.
Alley Capital Group Drone Crop Spraying for Climate Sustainable Farming Supported by: International Labour Organization
  • Alley Capital Group (PVT) LTD, also referred to as ACG, is a young Smart Agriculture and Engineering company, founded by Aeronautical Engineers, offering crop protection services in agriculture using advanced and innovative autonomous robotic drone systems, better known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) systems. The drone crop spraying solution remotely and precisely sprays farmland with liquid agrochemicals to protect or boost plants. The battery powered drone spray solution comes not only as a greener crop protection method, as compared to traditional heavy fuel-powered machinery, but is also a highly computerized system which leverages on high precision algorithms and efficient delivery mechanisms to improving spray efficiency significantly while cutting costs by at least 30 %. The drone flies low, just above the crop canopy to ensure optimal application of agrochemicals and intelligent software, automatically adjusts the spray rate synchronously with flying speed to ensure that only the desired amount of chemical is applied. Its impact is: 1) Cutting down direct environmental pollution from fuel combustion; 2) Millilitre spray technology means that we cut down on environmental pollution from agro-chemical abuse, thus saving life underwater and on land; 3) Minimised human exposure to agro-chemical; 4) Enhance food security and shared prosperity; 5) Decent work opportunity creation.
