WCEF 2021 Accelerator session Corporate Plastic Stewardship: The need for measurement and disclosure It is clear today that the linear model of the packaging value chains entails significant economic and environmental drawbacks, including plastic leakage. Businesses are starting to respond to the demand for plastic circularity by revising their packaging choices and setting plastic footprint and mitigation strategies. However, there is still no holistic environmental assessment framework for packaging or a global standard for plastic footprinting and disclosure. This session will explore the assets that WBCSD is developing in collaboration with partners to address this gap and strengthen leadership across the packaging value chain.
