The Africa Women in Data Science event will be held to coincide with International Women's Day 2022. This will also mark the 1 year anniversary of the publication of SARAO's Women in Data Science report.

This free online event aims to build a thriving African community of female data scientists and promote skills development for women who are interested in a career in data science.

The first day will be a conference featuring inspiring female panel discussions, presentations from leading industry experts and question and answer sessions. This day is open to anyone across Africa with a strong interest in the data science field. Please note - to register for the conference only you just need to complete the first section of the form.

The second and third days will be a sentiment analysis hackathon, where teams can compete for prizes. Please note that due to funding restrictions the hackathon portion of the event is only open to women (and those identifying as women) who are currently in SKA Africa Partner Countries (Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zambia). To register for the hackathon as well as the conference you will need to complete ALL sections.

Start and finish times will be confirmed in due course.
