UNGA Guide

Within the framework of the celebrations of the International Day of Universal Access to Information 2021, the 3rd Panel will explore how using digital technologies contributes to peace and sustainable development.  

The overall theme of the 2021 International Day for Universal Access to Information celebrations is « The Right to Know – Building Back Better with Access to Information ».   

How the digital era is modifying our Access to Information? 
How can new technologies foster peace and sustainable development? 

 

The third panel of discussions held on September 28 as part of the International Day for Universal Access to Information celebrations will be dedicated to the implementation of Access to Information laws by leveraging digital technologies for peace and sustainable development. 

Speakers will talk about good practices, how to strengthen transparency and accountability, the need of ensuring open access to data for the public good and building public trust by providing access to information. 

The broadening of e-government processes, the surge of data and data-intensive research as well as inclusion and cross-border data flows will also be debated. 

The World Bank report “Data for Better Lives” and the Open Government Partnership plan “Open Response + Open Recovery” will be presented and provide guidance.
